NEET Important Dates 2020 – National Testing Agency has released the NEET 2020 important dates along with the notification ton August 21, 2019. The important dates of NEET 2020 detail the dates to apply online, download admit card, correction dates, exam schedule, result and counselling dates. While the NEET important dates 2020 pertaining to the exam and result have been announced by NTA, the counselling dates and schedule will be released by the Directorate General of Health (DGHS). Application process has started from December 2 with the NEET admit card released on March 27. The exam date of NEET is May 3, 2020, for the pen and paper-based exam that will be held across 154 cities in the country. Candidates will be able to check their result on June 4 and counselling will start thereafter for the All India quota and state quota respectively. NEET is the largest undergraduate medical entrance exam in the country, the scores of which are used for admissions to all medical programmes including MBBS and BDS. NEET 2020 is expected to see more than 16 lakh applicants for 75,893 (MBBS seats) in 529 colleges and 26693 (BDS seats) in 313 colleges. Admissions to these are based on the NEET scores and ranks through All India counselling and respective state counselling processes.

NEET 2020 Important Dates – Highlights

NEET 2020 Application Dates – The registration facility has been made available from December 2 and it will remain open till December 31, 2019. Candidates will be required to register and fill the application form of NEET 2020 within this specified time to be able to appear for the exam.

NEET 2020 Admit Card Dates – NTA will release the NEET 2020 admit card on March 27, 2020. Candidates will have to login, enter their credentials to be able to download their admit card of NEET. Only candidates who could successfully apply for NEET 2020 can download the admit card after it is released.

NEET 2020 Exam Date – NEET 2020 will be held on May 3 which is a Sunday. NTA has confirmed the exam date of NEET 2020 on August 21 with the release of the notification for the exam. NEET 2020 is will be held in a single shift and in a single session.

NEET 2020 Result Dates – NTA has declared the date for NEET Result 2020 along with the notification. The result of NEET 2020 will be released on June 4. Candidates who qualify must download their NEET result to apply for counselling.

NEET Syllabus will include questions from the Physics, Chemistry and Biology of class 11 and 12. Medical Council of India (MCI) lays down the syllabus for NEET. A detailed review of all the state board syllabi is taken into consideration to establish uniformity across the country.

  • NTA will release mock tests at its website, you can also track your preparation status with the free NEET Sample Papers.
  • As per the official notification, the syllabus and NEET Exam Pattern will be exactly same as it was in the year 2019. 
  • There are a total of 180 questions divided equally among these sections.
  • Each question will be of 4 marks while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • NEET 2019 will be conducted on May 5, 2020(Tentative) in offline mode.

  • Physics is generally the toughest subject out of all three subjects.
  • NEET 2020 is expected to have lengthy and time-consuming questions in this section.

Weightage of Biology in NEET 2020

  • The biology section is divided into Botany and Zoology, each having 45 questions.
  • It is usually the easiest out of the three subjects and thus, a savior for many students.
  • In NEET 2017, the weightage tilted towards class XII syllabus from which 46 questions were asked as compared to 44 questions from the class XI syllabus.
  • In Zoology, class XII syllabus had more weightage and only 3 questions were asked from class XI.
  • However, in Botany, class XI had more weightage from where 35 questions were asked.
