VIT Engineering Entrance Exam

VITEEE 2020 is a national level examination conducted by VIT University. VIT has released the VITEEE application form, candidates can apply online until February 29, 2020.The VIT University has made changes in the Exam Pattern of VITEEE 2020. The university conducts the exam for admission into B.Tech programmes including Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in Vellore Institute of Technology Chennai, Vellore, Amravati, and Bhopal campus. VITEEE is held in an online mode within various slots conducted on multiple days. VIT University is conducting the VITEEE in the month of April 2020. VITEEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The students who shall apply for VITEEE 2020 must first check the eligibility criteria for the exam. It is an important thing to do for the students. It is so because if they apply for the exam without checking the eligibility criteria and later, it is found that they do not fulfil the same, their application will be rejected. Check the eligibility criteria for the VITEEE 2020 Exam:


The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian (NRI) National. PIO/OCI holder are also eligible to apply. These candidates should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years.

Qualifying Examination: 

The student who is appearing for the VITEEE 2020 should have passed in any of the following examinations:

  1. The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
  2. Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  3. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Organisation, Geneva.
  4. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/ Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  5. NIOS candidates are also eligible to apply. They will have to submit Migration-Cum-Transfer certificate at the time of admission.

Marks in the Qualifying Examination: 

The students who are appearing for the exam should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).


The students who are applying for the VITEEE 2020 Exam must have completed 17 years of age at the time of applying for the examination.

Note: Those who are applying for this exam must note that if they have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree Programmes. But in case, the students have studied  Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bioengineering and B.Tech. Biotechnology programmes. They are also eligible for ECE with specialisation in Biomedical Engineering, B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Bioinformatics. To do so, they have to register for the Mathematics programme at the time of joining.

VITEEE 2020 Application Form

The next step after checking the eligibility criteria for the exam is filling the application form. The students can fill the application form for this exam in both online and offline manner. To fill the application form online, the students will have to visit the official website of VIT which is Here the students will have to give some details in it, upload the documents and pay the application fee.

Offline forms for the VITEEE 2020 are in the form of OMR sheets. The candidates can get these forms from various post offices as given on the official website. They can also get the form from all the 4 campuses of VIT by paying a demand draft for it. Also, candidates can get the offline form from the designated post offices by the VIT university. The candidates have to ensure that they fill the OMR completely and then send. Incomplete applications will be rejected by the University. They will also have to pay an application fee as well. Only then the application will be valid.

VITEEE 2020 Application Fee

The students who are applying for VITEEE 2020 Exam must also note that they have to pay an application fee as well. The application fee will be different for each mode of application. The students who are filling out the application form in an online mode can pay the application fee through the following modes:

  1. Net banking
  2. Credit card
  3. Debit card

For the general reference, the students must know the application fee in both online and offline mode as they will have an idea of the expected application fee for the year 2020. The fee for the online application fee is Rs 1150 where as for the offline applications candidates have to pay an amount of Rs. 1250.
